Aim

Getting acquainted with the problems of the stability of linear girders

Outcome

Mastering the procedures for the analysis of the stability of linear girders.

Contents

Notion of the stability. Presentation of the differential and integral equations that serve as the basis for the solution of the problems of the stability of the bars. Teory of elastic stability of the bars. Presentation of the procedures for the solution of the stability of the bars and girders. Energy methods. Numerical methods. Analisis of the stability of frames. Analysis of the stability of plane frames. Buckling of the compressed bars in non elastic region. Buckling of frames in non elastic region. Diferencial equation of the buckling of thin-walled bars. Lateral buckling of thin walled bars. Analysis of Ec and serbian codes of practice regarding buckling of the bars, plane frames and thinwalled girdes.
