Our colleague, asst. prof. dr. Uroš Đurić, delivered a guest lecture on June 24, 2025, at Uppsala University, Sweden, as part of the Geophysics Program within the Department of Earth Sciences (internal seminar).
The lecture, titled "From Field Data to Risk Maps: An Introduction to Quantitative Landslide Risk Assessment," was attended by 15 researchers, professors, and PhD students.
This was one of the rare internally organized geotechnical-oriented seminars within the Geophysics Program at the Department, giving it special significance in fostering interdisciplinary connections—particularly in the context of landslide risk research in so-called “quick clay” formations, which represent a significant geohazard in Sweden.
In addition to the lecture, a meeting was held with representatives of Uppsala University’s “Smart Exploration Research Center”, during which potential opportunities for collaboration and joint participation in scientific projects were discussed.
The host and organizer of the lecture was Dr. Magdalena Marković Juhlin, asst. prof. of Applied Geophysics and Innovation Coordinator at the aforementioned center.

As part of the Horizon Circ-Boost project, in which the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Belgrade is a key partner, the first in a series of webinars dedicated to circular construction will be held. Experts from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Penta Ge.Co. Construction, and Beam Europe, along with representatives from the Serbia Green Building Council, will share their insights on innovative construction solutions, technical challenges, and the importance of the circular economy for the construction sector. Special focus will be placed on the application of recycled aggregates, fly ash, reused steel, and recycled bricks in modern construction practices. Participants of the Circ-Boost project will present the progress and challenges within Pilot 3, which aims to develop, test and demonstrate circular solutions in construction through the creation of a modular and demountable single-story building. The webinar will be held on April 3, 2025, at 11:00. Registration link.

At the Faculty of Civil Engineering, on Friday, November 22, 2024, was held the first in a series of planned trainings of the Horizon Project Circ-Boost, in which the Faculty of Civil Engineering participates as one of the key partners. The topic was "A step toward carbon neutral and circular construction industry" at the inspiring setting of the FCE building

Ass. prof. Ivan Ignjatovic from FCE provided us with an look into the 3R House (Reduce - Reuse - Recycle) being built as a part of the Pilot 3 activities conducted in Belgrade, its concept & contribution to hashtag CircularConstruction.

Prof. Snežana Marković from FCE gave a captivating presentation on the policy landscape of the construction industry green transition.

Tea Spasojevic-Santic from IMS Institute, Belgrade described the processes behind the EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations) creation, igniting the questions & further discussion among audience.

This is the first of many trainings FCE will conduct to transfer the knowledge learned through their Pilot 3 activities in Belgrade.

The international conference Milanković`s Theory of Climate Changes-Hundred Years Afterwords was organized as a part of the program of marking 145 from the birth of great man of Serbian and world science Milutin Milanković. The conference was held on November 4-5, 2024 on the occasion of the International Day Climate Change in Lecture Hall Milutin Milanković of the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
The objective of the conference, which was attended by liding world experts in the fild of climate changes, was to anticipate on the basis of Milanković`s theory what could be expected to occur in the next 100 years as a consequence of the climate changes, both due to naturale long-term processes and anthropogenic factors, and to propose practical measures that the human civilzation should undertake in order to prevent their negative influence on the enviroment.
