Our colleague, asst. prof. dr. Uroš Đurić, delivered a guest lecture on June 24, 2025, at Uppsala University, Sweden, as part of the Geophysics Program within the Department of Earth Sciences (internal seminar).
The lecture, titled "From Field Data to Risk Maps: An Introduction to Quantitative Landslide Risk Assessment," was attended by 15 researchers, professors, and PhD students.
This was one of the rare internally organized geotechnical-oriented seminars within the Geophysics Program at the Department, giving it special significance in fostering interdisciplinary connections—particularly in the context of landslide risk research in so-called “quick clay” formations, which represent a significant geohazard in Sweden.
In addition to the lecture, a meeting was held with representatives of Uppsala University’s “Smart Exploration Research Center”, during which potential opportunities for collaboration and joint participation in scientific projects were discussed.
The host and organizer of the lecture was Dr. Magdalena Marković Juhlin, asst. prof. of Applied Geophysics and Innovation Coordinator at the aforementioned center.
